Lighting Needs:  Does best in a sunny south window.

Soil Type:  Never use ordinary potting compost or garden soil.  There are general purpose cactus mixes available.

Watering:  Drench the soil and let it become barely moist between waterings.  Within an hour, pour off the water remaining in the saucer.  Do not water again until the surface soil feels dry.  Do not let the soil get bone dry.

Fertilizer:  Feed with any cactus fertilizer every two weeks in the spring and summer.

Keep cool in the winter and cover the last 1" (2.5cm) of soil with gravel to avoid stem rot.  Be careful not to over-water.
