Asparagus Fern, Sprengerii

Though this plant is not a true fern, it is often used both indoors and out much
the same way one would use traditional ferns. Stems are green and arching and
may grow to a length of 3 to 4 feet long and have shiny needles that are also
bright green. Most commonly grown as a hanging basket, the plant adds an airy
effect to tropical areas where temperatures stay above 24 degrees F. Grow in
full sun or part shade. Will tolerate poor, dry soil. Must have bright light if
grown indoors. This plant will have red berries and is sometimes unpopular
because of the small barbs on stems. Cut back to ground to rejuvenate plant.
